Clinique Even Better Foundation

Clinque Even Better Foundation

I have a confession to make. As a self-proclaimed “beauty blogger” this is my first real foundation I’ve ever purchased. I’ve tried loads of BB creams and even CC creams, but I’ve never given foundations a fair shot. I have less than fond memories of foundation stemming from an incident requiring me to try to use foundation to cover a bruise on my face. I just remember smearing a Cover Girl foundation (that was probably entirely the wrong color) all over my face and feeling like it was paint. From that point on I decided that foundation was not for me.

Stories aside, the Clinique Even Better Foundation is the product that changed my mind. I was at the Clinique counter repurchasing my favorite Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ and the woman helping me convinced me to take a sample of foundation home. I grew to love it and really discovered how foundation didn’t have to be a mask. I can use the tiniest pea sized amount and it covers any redness on my cheeks and mostly covers any breakouts on my chin, all while feeling like it’s enhancing my skin rather than covering it up.

The finish is slightly dewy so it works perfectly with my normal-dry skin. I think this would work on most skin types because you can choose to powder it if you need a little more mattifying finish. I like the added dewey-ness during the colder months though just so my skin doesn’t look so dry and dull. I’m using the shade 04 Cream Chamois, but there are quite a few shades to choose from, so you can likely find a good match for your skin.

On the website Clinique claims that over time this foundation is supposed to have beneficial skin properties like evening your skin tone and diminishing the appearance of age spots. I can’t speak much to those claims because I haven’t noticed any major changes in my skin, but it hasn’t been clogging my pores or causing any problems either. Just for reference I’ve been using this product for about a month now. I highly recommend Clinique and this foundation though because I trust them as a brand for both their skincare and makeup.

I really like Clinique too. I haven’t tried a foundation by them but this one looks promising! I like that it doesn’t feel like a mask; nothing worse than being able to feel foundations on your face!
