November Favorites

November Favorites

Today is officially December 1st, which means final exams are about to start… More importantly Christmas is almost here! I’m going to try my best to focus on the positives in the coming weeks. First I want to share a few of my favorites from the past month. You’ve got to give November a little love before kicking off the holiday season.

The Kylie Jenner lip trend is undeniably in full force at the moment, so much so that if you google Kylie Jenner, “Kylie Jenner lip colors” is the first result. I’ve never been one to follow the Kardashians, but Kylie’s signature lip is hard to ignore because it’s just so wearable. I’ve accumulated a few products recently that fall into this category (post coming soon?), but the one I’ve been wearing the most is the Milani Color Statement Lip Liner in All Natural. I’m sure this would make a great base before applying any other lipsticks, but I’ve just been enjoying it on its own. It’s the perfect browny-nude color that makes a great alternative to the berries and reds that people love this time of year.

Another staple for me this month has been the Physicians Formula Sexy Booster Sexy Glow Bronzer. That’s a lot of sexy for one product! If you need a good chuckle just remember that the Physicians Formula website calls this product “lingerie for your face”. It’s supposed to recreate pheromones to “unleash your sexiness” or something like that, but gimmicks aside I just like this product because it creates a natural glow on the skin. I have the lighter shade, so it’s good for this time of year when summer has become a distant memory and my skin takes a turn for the paler side.

It was all about the purple eye look this past month for me, and the darker shade in the Clinique All About Shadow Duo in Jammin’ is perfect. I like to use the light shade all over my lid, then add the purple to the outer corner and up into the crease. There’s a little bit of a subtle sparkle to the shadow which makes it a bit more interesting than a plain matte shadow which can look a bit flat. With such a dark purple shadow you have to be conscious of blending it out all the way. I applied this in a rush to get out the door on Thanksgiving and I spent a lot of the ride to my grandpa’s trying to discreetly use my phone camera as a mirror to make sure it didn’t look like I had been punched in both eyes.

I know beauty is the main focus of my blog, but bear with me as I share some random things that I’ve been loving this month besides makeup. If you even slightly like the taste of pumpkin you need these Pumpkin O’s from Trader Joe’s in your life. I even like them better without milk so they’re the perfect snack to throw in your bag if you’re out. I’m not sure when they stop making them, but I’ve gone through a few boxes already. And finally this month’s favorites would not be complete without the new Nick Jonas album being mentioned. It’s pretty much all I’ve been listening too. I love the whole album, but if I had to pick a few favorites they would be Chains, Teacher, and Numb. And Push, but I’ll be done now.

Good luck to anyone finishing school in the next few weeks! And I hope everyone is getting excited for the holidays!

The lip liner looks so pretty! I told myself I wouldn’t jump on the Kylie bandwagon but it’s too pretty to resist. The Clinique duo has the prettiest purples, I love their eye shadows!

I was a little hesitant at first because seriously everyone is talking about the “Kylie shades”, but you can just think of it as the 90s lip trend resurfacing! haha
